The Kroger Co. in California is seeking a Wine Department Associate to create an outstanding customer experience by delivering exceptional service.

You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced grocery setting. Responsibilities include answering questions about products, recommending wine and beer, helping with tastings, stocking, and staying current with ads and promotions.

Formación

• Second language is required (speaking, reading and/or writing).
• Knowledge of imported and domestic wine varieties and flavor profiles.
• Knowledge of industry trends in specialty wines and beers as they relate to the consumer.
• Experience working with wine and beer in a retail environment.
• Retail experience is preferred.
• Effective communication skills and ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math and wine testing requirements.
• Must pass wine test once employed.

Responsabilidades

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to inquiries with recommendations.
• Offer product samples following company guidelines and applicable laws.
• Inform customers of wine specials and help with product requests.
• Recommend wine items to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist with wine pairings with meat, cheeses and desserts.
• Collaborate with store chef for wine tastings and programs.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and maintain temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report items in need of repair.
• Notify management of accidents and report safety risks or fraud.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.
