Job summary

Avangrid Power seeks a Wind Turbine Technician to perform on-site operations, maintenance, and repairs at the Arlington, OR wind plant. You will lead in plant operations as directed by the Plant Manager, with responsibilities spanning turbine equipment, substation, and transmission systems.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (voltage testers, etc.).
• Advanced computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control and reporting systems; use of diagnostic tools.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily to perform maintenance in the nacelle and hub.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment and crane/rigging requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and associated infrastructure (substation, collection, transmission).
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems with variable pitch, speed control systems.
• Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components per OEM specs.
• Comply with environmental health and safety programs.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.
• Collect data and prepare reports for wind plant requirements.
• Support retrofits and design modifications when needed.
• Coordinate QA/QC and assist Construction during Mechanical/Commissioning walks.
