Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Plant Technician I to operate and maintain wind turbine equipment at our Arlington, OR site. You will troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and perform preventive maintenance following OEM guidelines.

The role requires frequent climbing of towers, lifting, and travel to other sites as needed. The ideal candidate has a year of related experience or the relevant certificate, plus strong computer skills and a safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.
• Advanced computer skills utilizing various software and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily for maintenance.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals and safety programs.
• Assist with data collection and reporting for wind plant operations.
• Support construction and commissioning walk-downs when applicable.
