Job summary

Avangrid Power seeks a Wind Turbine Technician in Arlington, OR to operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related systems. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems, perform OEM-guided preventive maintenance, and adhere to safety and environmental programs.

The role requires climbing towers, handling lifting tasks, reading schematics, and traveling 10–15% to other sites. A relevant certificate or wind training plus a valid driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.
• Advanced computer skills with standard software and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily for maintenance.
• Able to lift items up to 60–100 pounds and work with electrical wiring.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment and crane/rigging basics.
• Demonstrated teamwork, initiative and a positive attitude.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals and safety programs.
• Travel up to 10–15% to other sites or projects.
• Support commissioning and QA/QC activities as needed.
• Work in varying weather and high voltage environments.
