Job summary

Deutsche Windtechnik is seeking a Technician I to support our wind turbine team on site in the US. You will lead and assist with routine maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, ensuring turbines remain operational and safe.

You will generate documentation, follow procedures, and report issues promptly. Ideal candidates have 2+ years as a wind turbine technician, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass physical and drug screening.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required; Associate degree is a bonus.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Wind Turbine Technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (non-CDL or CDL).
• Ability to read and interpret documents, follow safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision with proper instructions.
• Must pass physical exam and drug/alcohol screening.
• Able to lift/move up to 100 pounds.
• Capable of climbing 300 ft towers with gear and working in extreme weather.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist with routine preventive and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines.
• Provide leadership and technical direction for the work team.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and report issues.
• Assist with removal/installation of turbine components as needed.
• Generate and complete required paperwork and checklists.
