Job summary

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is seeking a Wind Service Technician to diagnose and repair wind turbine systems at a home wind farm site with occasional travel to other sites in Iowa. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and customer service in a demanding outdoor environment.

Ideal candidates will be able to work at heights, operate in confined spaces, and collaborate with engineering to improve field procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work at elevations and in confined spaces.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% in year one, then 10%—as needed for operations.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintenance of wind turbines.
• Troubleshoot errors on wind turbines.
• Escalate technical issues to engineering.
• Support other sites across Iowa as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients.
• Develop improved field procedures and best practices.
• Work inside turbine enclosure at ~300 ft height.
