Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Tiger Team Technician I to support regional wind farm operations in Illinois. This field-based role involves working with a small team on generator bearing exchanges, pitch ram and gearbox tasks, troubleshooting, and safety exercises to ensure reliable power delivery.

You will maintain tools, equipment, and vehicle readiness and provide technical guidance to the O&M team. The position is non-exempt, requires climbing wind towers, and offers extensive travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Wind School and/or Mechanical preferred.
• Global Wind Organization Certificate preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Wind, Solar, and BESS.
• Journeyman or master electrician license desirable.
• Must be willing to relocate within 1 hour of site.

Responsibilities

• Assure activities are performed safely per site policies and procedures.
• Pass physical fitness tests to maintain Global Wind Organization Certification.
• Climb wind towers daily to perform maintenance tasks.
• Lift and transport tools and equipment to job sites.
• Monitor maintenance contractors and ensure corrective actions.
• Lead/perform acceptance and performance tests after planned maintenance or outages.
• Travel up to 50% of the time.
