Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Wind Technician for the Plymouth Wind Energy Center near Marcus, IA. You will operate and maintain a 202.74 MW wind facility, performing routine mechanical and electrical tasks and climbing turbine towers as part of daily duties.

The role requires outdoor work, climbing at heights, and the ability to lift heavy objects. A valid license and US work eligibility are essential, with a 40-hour week plus overtime potential.

Qualifications

• One year technical experience or related education.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders, and work at heights above 80 meters.
• Physically able to move up to 100 pounds (45 kg) and lift up to 120 kg with gear.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of turbine components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components.
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and a clean safe work environment.
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to overtime; schedules vary during peak maintenance periods.
