Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Wind Technician for the Plymouth Wind Energy Center near Marcus, IA. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining wind turbines, climbing towers, and performing mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE turbine systems.

The role requires outdoor work in varying weather, physical strength for heights and lifting, and a valid driver’s license. Base pay is hourly with bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• One year technical experience (mechanical, electrical, etc.) and/or technical education.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders, and work at heights >80 meters (250 ft).
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs) excluding gear.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all safety gear, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all turbine components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components.
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment.
• Work a 40 hour week with overtime during peak maintenance periods.
