Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Wind Technician to operate and maintain the Plymouth Wind Energy Center near Marcus, Iowa. The role involves performing routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbines and related equipment, climbing towers, and ensuring a safe, efficient outdoor work environment.

Applicants should have at least one year of technical experience or relevant education, be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of technical experience or relevant education.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Climb wind turbine towers and perform inspections/maintenance.
• Move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and related equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily with safety equipment to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of wind turbine components.
• Troubleshoot faults and repair or replace components.
• Maintain tooling, facilities and a clean safe work environment.
• Work a 40 hour week with potential overtime during peak maintenance periods.
