Job summary

Invenergy LLC's Plymouth Wind Energy Center in Marcus, Iowa, seeks a Wind Technician to operate and maintain the facility, performing routine mechanical and electrical tasks on GE turbines and related equipment.

You will climb towers, work outdoors in all weather, and troubleshoot faults while adhering to safety protocols; a valid driver’s license and US work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• One year of technical experience (mechanical, electrical, or related) or technical education.
• Outdoor work in inclement weather and at heights.
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs) excluding gear.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of wind turbine components
• Troubleshoot faults; repair or replace components
• Maintain tooling, facilities and a safe, clean work environment
• Work a 40 hour week with scheduled and unscheduled overtime during peak periods
