Job summary

EDP Renewables North America is seeking an entry-level Wind Technician I to support on-site operations, maintenance, and repair of wind turbines at a generation site. You will perform LOTO, Tail Board, and documentation to maintain safe, compliant wind plant operations.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to read schematics, inspect equipment, and coordinate with the Remote Operations Control Center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.
• 1–2 years relevant experience in wind energy or related industry.
• Strong mechanical background, gearing-related preferred.
• Experience with turbines, high voltage switching, and repairs preferred.
• Familiarity with maintenance tools and with crane and rigging requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of wind turbines and related equipment.
• Identify safety risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Document work using service reporting procedures.
• Coordinate with EDPR NA’s Remote Operations Control Center when needed.
• Participate in on-the-job training with on-site personnel.
