Job summary

Pattern Energy is seeking a Wind Plant Technician to perform on-site operations, maintenance, and repairs at our wind generation facilities. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain turbines, substations, and related equipment, while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

The role requires climbing towers, handling heavy lifting, and traveling to different wind sites in the U.S. or Canada. A valid driver's license and technical training are essential.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months related experience or wind industry training.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to climb 80+ meter towers daily for nacelle/hub work.
• Ability to lift 1–60 lbs frequently and 61–100 lbs occasionally.
• Advanced computer skills using MS Office and maintenance systems.
• Ability to read and follow written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Willing to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and on-call.
• Ability to work in adverse weather and around electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbines and balance of plant equipment.
• Read schematics to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Repair or replace parts to meet OEM and Pattern Energy standards.
• Follow environmental, health and safety programs.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM and Pattern Energy practices.
• Maintain tools, organize workspace, and manage reports.
• Operate service vehicle as needed.
• Collect data and prepare wind plant reports.
