Job summary

EDP Renewables in the United States is seeking an enthusiastic Wind Technician I to join one of our wind-energy sites. This entry-level role focuses on on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and documentation to support turbine upkeep with a strong emphasis on safety.

You will perform inspections, follow LOTO and Tail Board procedures, and ensure compliance with EDPR policies and environmental regulations. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school education preferred.
• The ideal candidate should have a strong mechanical background, specifically gearing-related.
• 1–2 years relevant experience in wind energy or related industry (preferred).
• Understanding of Microsoft products and complementing products.
• Experience with power plant operations and maintenance, wind plant operations and turbines (including turbine power converters specifically).
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment and heavy equipment for facility maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of wind turbines and related equipment including substation and tower switchgear.
• Proactively seek improvement opportunities and communicate or implement them using proper protocols.
• Identify safety gaps and mitigate risks with recommendations to staff and management.
• Conduct safety standards compliance and document all work performed.
• Coordinate with EDPR's Remote Operations Control Center for remote operations when needed.
• Complete required training and participate in on-site job training.
