Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is hiring a Wind Farm Technician I to ensure safe operations and maintenance at one or more wind farms. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot, and repair renewable energy systems, while documenting activities and supporting safety initiatives.

The role may involve leading retrofit work, coordinating with teams, and mentoring junior staff. Requires a HS diploma, drivers license, and 5+ years in renewable energy; on-site in Illinois with on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or certification in renewable energy or electrical systems preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Within 1 hour drive to the site.
• 5+ years in renewable energy or wind tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe operation and maintenance activities at wind farms and BoP equipment.
• Lead repairs, installations, testing, and routine inspections.
• Document findings, report to managers, and maintain records.
• Mentor junior staff and support cross-department collaboration.
• Serve as on-call backup and ensure safety compliance.
