Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Wind Farm Technician II to support safe and reliable operation and maintenance of wind, solar, and BESS assets. You will perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and system testing across multiple facilities while adhering to EHS policies and documenting activities in the CMMS.

The role includes mentoring Trainee and Associate technicians, participating in continuous improvement, and being available for on-call duties with quick response times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or equivalent certification in renewable energy tech or electrical systems is a plus.
• Unrestricted driver’s license.
• Must live within 1 hour drive time to site.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on technical experience in renewable energy, power generation, heavy industrial maintenance, or related field.
• Solar or battery energy storage system (BESS) maintenance experience.
• Military experience in electrical, electronics, or mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe and compliant operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind, solar, and BESS assets, including turbines and BoP equipment.
• Conduct scheduled services, major component replacements, corrective repairs, and system testing for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and resolve moderate technical issues, escalate complex problems as needed, provide input for maintenance planning, and support RCA for recurring issues.
• Document maintenance activities and equipment performance in the CMMS.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, standards, and workplace policies.
• Mentor Trainee and Associate Technicians and support a strong safety culture.
