Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC seeks a Wind Farm Technician II to join our Operations & Maintenance team in Illinois. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing across wind, solar, and BESS assets to maximize asset availability and reliability, following EHS standards.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s degree or equivalent certification in renewable energy technology or electrical systems is a plus.
Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on technical experience in renewable energy, power generation, heavy industrial maintenance, or a closely related field.
Licenses/certifications such as Journeyman or Master Electrician are preferred.
Wind Technician certification or equivalent credentials are advantageous.
Strong ability to read schematics and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Performs safe operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind, solar, and BESS assets per site policies and EHS rules.
Conducts scheduled services, major component replacements, and system testing for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic subsystems.
Diagnose and resolve moderate technical issues; support maintenance planning and RCA for recurring problems.
Document maintenance activities and equipment performance in the CMMS.
Ensure compliance with regulations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Mentor Trainee and Associate Technicians and promote a strong safety culture.
