Job summary

The People Concern in Los Angeles is seeking a Housing Navigator for the Coordinated Entry program. The role focuses on housing-focused supportive services for people experiencing homelessness, helping them identify, apply for, and move into permanent housing.

The position operates in the field with clients and at Interim Housing sites, reporting to the Program Manager for timely documentation to housing authorities, providers, or landlords.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field (Social Work, Community Organizing, or other Human Services).
• 1 year of full-time experience with people experiencing homelessness preferred.
• Knowledge of homeless social service providers and Coordinated Entry System.
• Able to communicate with subcontractors, housing providers and partners.
• Detail oriented with strong time management, organization, writing, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry a caseload of 20-25 clients and support successful housing interventions.
• Develop housing plans with clients.
• Complete HMIS documentation and county tools within required timelines.
• Assist clients with identification, Social Security, disability, and homelessness verifications.
• Serve as the point of contact for housing resource matching and landlord coordination.
• Notify treatment providers when matched to housing resources.
• Complete Universal Housing Application within seven days of invitation.
• Support clients in locating, viewing, and applying for permanent housing units.
• Build relationships with property owners and landlords to increase opportunities.
