Job summary

Facing History & Ourselves, Inc. in Southern California seeks a Sr Director Development West Region to lead a multi-state fundraising plan and drive revenue growth. You will oversee a four-person team, manage major gifts, and partner with the ED West to engage regional advisory boards.

You bring 10+ years of nonprofit development leadership, excel at data-driven strategy, and travel regularly across California and the Western US to expand donor portfolios and financial outcomes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit development, including senior level responsibility for meeting or exceeding annual revenue goals.
• Experience leading through a matrixed organizational structure with colleagues who are not direct reports.
• Demonstrated success building and executing fundraising strategy across multiple geographic markets, including major gifts and donor engagement.
• Track record of personally cultivating soliciting and closing six-figure gifts.
• Ability to manage and coach staff while fostering collaboration and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and execution of the West region's annual and multi-year development plan aligned with strategy and revenue goals.
• Lead an integrated development program across multiple states and philanthropic markets.
• Drive performance across individual giving, institutional giving, events, and donor engagement and operations.
• Establish and maintain revenue forecasting, pipeline, portfolio management, and reporting for clear progress towards goals.
• Translate national strategies into effective regional execution and use data to optimize results.
