Job summary

Facing History & Ourselves seeks a Senior Director of Development for the Midwest to own the region’s fundraising plan and lead a high-performing team. The role drives revenue across individual and institutional giving, events, donor engagement, and operations, while aligning with national strategy and multi-market priorities.

The position is hybrid with a strong preference for a Midwest presence, and requires a track record of closing significant gifts and managing complex donor portfolios

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit development and fundraising.
• Experience leading a regional development program across multiple markets.
• Proven ability to manage and grow donor portfolios and revenue.

Responsibilities

• Own the Midwest region’s annual and multi-year development plan.
• Lead an integrated program across multiple states and philanthropic markets.
• Forecast revenue, manage pipelines and report progress toward goals.
• Solicit and close significant gifts and engage advisory boards.
• Develop staff and foster a culture of accountability and collaboration.
