Facing History & Ourselves is a global education nonprofit seeking a Sr. Director, Development, West Region to lead the West region’s fundraising across individuals, foundations, and corporate giving.

This role reports to the Executive Director, West and oversees a four-member team, driving multi-state fundraising and donor engagement. The position is based in a Southern California hybrid setup, with a strong preference for a Southern California location, and requires strategic leadership, deep

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit development, including senior-level responsibility for revenue growth.
• 5+ years of team management experience.
• Experience leading through a matrixed organizational structure and coordinating work with non-direct reports.
• Proven success in developing and executing fundraising strategy across multiple geographic markets.
• Experience managing an integrated development program spanning major and individual giving, events and donor engagement.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and execution of the West region’s annual and multi-year development plan.
• Lead an integrated development program across multiple states and markets.
• Drive performance across individual, institutional giving, events and donor engagement, and operations.
• Establish revenue forecasting, pipeline and portfolio management, and reporting to track goals.
• Translate national strategies into effective regional execution.
• Use data and market intelligence to evaluate results and adjust strategies.
