Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is recruiting a Welding Engineer for our St. Johns, MI client environment. The role focuses on welding processes, QA, and supporting high-volume production with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include developing welding procedures, root-cause analyses, equipment selection, and training for technicians, while ensuring compliance with AWS and ASME standards. Salary ranges from $80,000 to $120,000, dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on welding processes and metallurgy.
• AWS CWEng certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• Proven experience with various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SAW, FCAW) and their application in high-volume production.
• Strong understanding of welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX).

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize welding procedures for manufacturing processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects.
• Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment and consumables.
• Provide technical support and training to welding technicians and production staff.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and customer specifications.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for welding processes and quality.

Education
