Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with relevant experience.
• Must pass Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) if working on stainless steel.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience related to manufacturing; industry experience preferred.
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints.
• 1 year experience using MIG and flux core welding and oxyacetylene/sub arc torches preferred.
• Successful completion of the G Welder test.
• Overhead crane and hoist experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English—spoken and written to ensure safe performance.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints and instructions to understand weld procedures and layouts.
• Operates a MIG welding machine to weld headers.
• Operates oxyacetylene torches to preheat headers and cut openings.
• Performs layout and fit-up of non ASME code water jacket headers.
• Maintains a clean work area and performs routine machine maintenance.
• Assists Team Lead or Team Manager and trains others as needed.
• Crosstrain in other areas to acquire new skills.
