Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a Weight & Research Manager to lead weighing and research across the organization, ensuring accurate freight classification and weight representation. This role protects revenue by verifying classification, weighing, and billing accuracy while driving continuous improvement.

You'll manage a team, collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Compliance, and serve as the NMFC subject matter expert, ensuring compliant use of dimensioning devices and aligned

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, operations, or supply chain.
• 2+ years of management experience preferred.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the W&R team and foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Lead data-driven process improvements and research industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Monitor and analyze product, shipment, or weights for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Review inspection reports to identify potential issues and conduct cost-benefit analyses.
• Ensure the company receives appropriate revenue on every shipment by facilitating accurate invoicing through inspection, dimensioner data analysis, and classification review.
• Research commodity information using the NMFC for applicable description and class.
• Review disputes from customers to determine the correct classification, if necessary, issue document corrections based on the applicable provisions from the NMFC.
• Monitor key performance indicators, prepare reports, and present findings and recommendations to leadership.
• Oversee operational performance to ensure compliant use of weighing and dimensioning equipment and established procedures.
• Ensure functionality and certification of dimensioning devices and scales, coordinating with Facilities and IT to resolve equipment issues or compliance.
• Collaborate with regional and service center operations teams to address personnel issues related to weight and research process compliance.
• Ensure compliance with company and government regulations, upholding fairness, honesty, and a strong company reputation in every inspection.
• Additional duties as assigned.
