Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a Weight & Research Manager to lead weighing and research across the organization, ensuring accurate freight classification and weight representation on all shipments.

Reporting to the Director of Pricing, you will manage a team, drive data-driven improvements, and ensure compliant invoicing and NMFC classifications while partnering with Sales, Operations, and Compliance. This exempt role requires 3+ years in logistics and prior leadership experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in logistics, transportation, operations, or supply chain.
• 2+ years of management experience preferred.
• Ability to lead and develop a team to meet objectives.
• Ability to document classification corrections clearly.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of NMFC provisions and weight/inspection practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the W&R team with accountability.
• Drive data-driven process improvements and research industry standards.
• Monitor weights for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Review inspection reports and conduct cost-benefit analyses.
• Ensure accurate invoicing through inspection and NMFC review.
• Research NMFC descriptions and class assignments.
• Review customer disputes to determine correct classification.
• Monitor KPIs and present findings to leadership.
• Oversee device functionality and compliance with procedures.
• Collaborate with regional operations to address weight-process issues.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and uphold company reputation.
