Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Yard and Dock Coordinator for the Weekend 3rd Shift (Friday–Monday, 9:00 pm–7:30 am) to oversee dock activities, trailer movements, and yard flow, ensuring the safe, efficient movement of trailers in and out of the facility.

This hands-on leadership role partners with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams to execute daily dock activities while modeling accountability and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, dock, yard, or transportation environment.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Working knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation procedures.
• Strong communication skills for daily customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support of hand tools and dock equipment as required.
• Serve as the primary contact for loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements.
• Manage and sequence trailer docking, release, and yard flow per safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and exercise stop-work authority when needed; escalate appropriately.
• Partner daily with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customer teams.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders and maintain a customer service mindset.
• Ensure dock activities align with process guidelines and site SWIs; see tasks to completion.
• Support dock/yard organization in alignment with 7S standards.
• Conduct regular visual inspections and identify risks or delays; document issues.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and communicate updates.
• Provide coverage and operational support to site leadership and peers as needed.
