Volunteers of America Northern California & Northern Nevada, Inc. is seeking a part-time Support Staff member for the Family Shelter at Parker House.

The Swing Shift covers Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, focusing on safe, compassionate daily care for residents and ensuring a respectful, structured environment. Responsibilities include coordinating meals and daily routines, maintaining records and cleanliness, and supporting staff to meet program goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse clients and staff.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours including weekends.
• CPR/First Aid certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Background clearance per agency, county, state, and federal standards.
• Computer skills required for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, compassionate, non-judgmental service to residents.
• Explain program rules and assist residents in adhering to them.
• Coordinate daily routines: meals, sleeping assignments, showers, laundry, and housekeeping.
• Maintain daily logs and incident reports; ensure safety and security checks.
• Support program operations and documentation; communicate with staff and external partners.
