Job summary

Volunteers of America Northern California & Nevada (VOA-NCNN) is seeking a Part-time Support Staff for the Parker House family shelter. The role provides compassionate, non-judgmental assistance to residents, with duties spanning daily operations, safety, and client support during the swing shift (Friday–Sunday).

Responsibilities include crisis de-escalation, shift reporting, light housekeeping, information clerical tasks, and coordination with program staff.

Qualifications

• Clear communication and ability to work with diverse clients.
• Experience with homelessness or social services is a plus; teamwork valued.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality service in a safe, non-judgmental manner to residents.
• Explain program rules and assist residents in following them.
• Coordinate meal service, bed assignments, and daily routines.
• Maintain daily program logs and report incidents.
• Perform clerical duties and maintain clear communication with residents.
