Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program is required.
• RRT or registry-eligible status is required.
• License in the state within 6 months of hire is required.
• CPR certification and ACLS/NRP/PALS within 24 months are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform, teach, and guide respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics.
• Assess and treat patients across all ages, with family education and care planning.
• Administer therapies, manage equipment, and understand indications and hazards.
• Provide advanced respiratory care, airway management during CPR, and external cardiac massage if needed.
• Perform blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing, plus related quality control.
• Explain procedures, develop home care instructions, and participate in continuing education.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize patient care and document in records.
• Maintain equipment and supervise staff; perform Director duties in their absence.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible

State licensure within 6 months

CPR certification; ACLS, NRP, PALS within 24 months
