Job summary

Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to deliver respiratory therapy and pulmonary diagnostics in a high-acuity, acute care setting. The role supports cardiopulmonary services on nights on a full-time basis.

Requirements include state RCP license, NBRC RRT certification, BCLS, ACLS within 60 days, and 2+ years experience. ACLS/NRP/PALS preferred; HS diploma required; 36-hour week with shift differentials.

Qualifications

• State license required.
• Current BCLS certificate upon hire.
• RRT certification from NBRC required.
• 2 years experience as an RCP preferred.
• ACLS within 60 days of hire.
• NRP certificate preferred.
• PALS within 60 days of hire.
• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management).
• Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems.
• Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs).
• Implement patient-specific respiratory care plans.
• Document care in the EMR.
• Respond to code blue and rapid response events.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes.
• May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts.
