Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the Weekender shift at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. This full-time role spans 36 hours per week with Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday night shifts (7pm–7:30am) and requires holiday coverage if holidays fall on weekends.

Position includes expertise in arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function testing, and extensive bedside care across all ages, with opportunities for professional growth and involvement

Qualifications

Graduate of an AMA approved school for respiratory therapy
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential or eligibility
Illinois licensure required
Current CPR certification required
Advanced knowledge of acid-base balance and blood gas interpretation

Responsibilities

Provide and supervise respiratory therapy and related diagnostics
Assess and treat patients from neonatal to geriatric
Explain procedures and educate patients and families
Maintain records and ensure equipment readiness
Supervise Respiratory Therapy Technicians and support staff
