Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the weekender night shift at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. The role involves providing comprehensive airway and cardiopulmonary care, with potential occasional travel to Plainfield Hospital on an as-needed basis.

The ideal candidate will hold RRT credentials, Illinois licensure, and current CPR certification, and will demonstrate strong knowledge of blood gas analysis and pulmonary function testing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved school for respiratory therapy.
• Licensed/eligible: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Illinois licensure.
• Current CPR certification issued by American Heart Association.
• Advanced knowledge of acid-base balance, blood gas analysis and interpretation.
• Experience with pulmonary function testing including spirometry, DLCO and related calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise all forms of respiratory therapy as prescribed.
• Assess and treat patients from neonatal to geriatric with appropriate care plans.
• Explain procedures to patients and families and provide home care instructions.
• Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment and record treatments.
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to optimize patient outcomes.
