Job summary

Accolade Healthcare seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join our team for weekends. Responsibilities include respiratory assessments, patient monitoring, and interventions under the interdisciplinary team. This role emphasizes independent work and collaboration to reduce avoidable readmissions.

Applicants should hold CRT or RRT credentials and an active IL license, with CPR; ACLS preferred. Not remote, with benefits and a supportive work environment. Weekend scheduling may apply, based in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credentials.
• Active license in good standing with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• CPR certified; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
• Experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a Home Health, LTACH, or sub-acute setting is a plus.
• This position is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient evaluation.
• Provide thorough medical record evaluation.
• Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of respiratory function possible.
• Evaluate, treat, and care for residents with respiratory problems including tracheostomies and suctioning.
• Analyze resident outcomes and adjust the plan of care accordingly.
• Manage and wean supplemental oxygen.
• Manage and wean tracheostomies.
• Assist with pulmonary rehab modalities.
• Perform all aspects of direct respiratory patient care.
• Educate residents or caregivers to maintain respiratory health.
• Operate respiratory care equipment safely and effectively.
• Participate in staff education.
• Maintain respiratory supply stock.
• Assist nursing staff when required.
• All other duties as assigned.
