Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric-focused team. The vacancy requires state licensure and independence in therapy delivery, with weekend shifts as part of the schedule.

Responsibilities include neuro-muscular rehab support, bedside treatments, and collaboration with the IDT. Prior long-term care experience and tracheotomy familiarity are preferred; BLS is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques to rehabilitate patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and in-services for nursing staff.
• Document daily, weekly and monthly activities.
• Attend IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.
