Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric care team in a skilled nursing setting. The RT must be licensed in the state, independently evaluative, and capable of leading respiratory therapies for residents.

Responsibilities include assessing, initiating therapies, documenting thoroughly, and participating in IDT meetings. Prior tracheotomy experience and LTC experience are valued in this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapy to maintain or rehab residents with various respiratory illnesses/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long term care setting.
• Follow procedures and protocols of the facility.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
