Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. Saturday and Sunday coverage is required; candidate must hold state licensure and be able to evaluate and treat independently, with a focus on geriatric care.

The RT will perform respiratory assessments, initiate therapies, document care, and participate in patient care planning, while supporting nursing staff and maintaining equipment in a compassionate,

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to treat/rehab patients with respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Lead in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
