The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York state is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join a geriatric-focused care team. The RT will perform assessments and deliver respiratory therapies, manage equipment, and document patient care in a skilled nursing environment.

Candidates must be licensed (RRT or CRT) in the practicing state and hold a current BLS certification. Weekend Saturday-Sunday coverage is required.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and be licensed as RRT or CRT.
• State licensure required where practicing; active BLS certification is required.

Responsabilités

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to treat and rehab patients with respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Participate in in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Document daily, weekly and monthly activities and caseloads.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care setting.
