Job summary
The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team. The role focuses on geriatric care, requires an active state license, and the ability to evaluate and treat independently.
You will perform assessments, initiate therapies, operate equipment, document daily care, and participate in IDT meetings. Experience with tracheostomy and in long-term care settings is preferred; Saturday and Sunday
Qualifications
- Graduate of COARC-accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
- Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
- BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques for patients with various respiratory illnesses/diseases.
- Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
- Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
- Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
- Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
- Attend applicable IDT meetings.
- Experience with tracheotomy.
- Experience in a long-term care setting.
- Follow facility procedures and protocols.
- Performs related duties as required.
