Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will assess and treat residents, operate and maintain respiratory equipment, and participate in interdisciplinary care to improve patient experience.

Candidates must be licensed (RRT/CRT) in the state, have BLS certification, and show experience in geriatric care and tracheotomy procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory techniques to rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation; attend IDT meetings.
