Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team in New York. The RT will evaluate and treat residents independently, provide bedside therapies, and participate in IDT meetings.

Requirements include COARC-accredited AS/BS in Respiratory, valid RT/CRT license in NY, and BLS certification. Prior geriatric/LTC experience is preferred. Salary ranges from $48 to $52 per hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain or rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
