Job summary

IVIRMA is seeking a Per Diem Weekend Surgical Center Nurse in Waltham, MA to provide nursing care across pre-operative, operative and post-operative phases. The role requires 2+ years of surgical nursing experience and proficiency in IV therapy, nursing assessment, and computer tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).

The position offers Saturday-Sunday shifts with a minimum commitment of three shifts per month, plus holiday rotations, and includes a comprehensive benefits package for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• 2+ years surgical nursing experience.
• Proficient in nursing assessment and intravenous therapy.
• Proficient in computer programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provides emotional support to the patient during pre-operative, operative and post-operative stages.
• Performs pre-operative and post-operative activities to coordinate surgical procedures.
• Pre-Operative: completes patient pre-operative assessment and documents per policy.
• Surgical: assists in setup, anticipates needs, performs counts, transports patient, hand-off to recovery.
