Job summary

IVIRMA Global is seeking a Surgical Center Technician in Waltham, MA to support the operating room on a per diem basis. Responsibilities include handling instruments, preparing sterile tables, and assisting the surgical team throughout procedures.

Ideal candidates will have a CST credential, a surgical technology program background, and at least 2 years of related instrument technician experience. BLS is required; prior experience in women's health or fertility settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a nationally accredited surgical technology program with CST credential.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a surgical instrument technician prior to Jan 1, 2015.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of scrub processes and instrumentation for gyn, and urology procedures.
• Maintains sterility and infection control; follows safety precautions.
• Assembles supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Prepares sterile instrument table.
• Maintains aseptic technique and monitors breaches.
• Transports patients to and from the surgical suite.
• Assists the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
• Gathers equipment for cleaning and sterilization.
• Orients and mentors new staff.
• Follows Standard Precautions with PPE.
