Job summary

Boston IVF in Waltham, MA is seeking a Per Diem Weekend Surgical Center Nurse. The role involves nursing care across pre-operative, operative and post-operative phases, with Saturdays and Sundays shifts starting at 6:30 AM and a minimum of three shifts per month including holiday rotation.

Graduate of an approved School of Nursing with BLS/ACLS certification and 2+ years of surgical nursing experience is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
• BLS/ACLS – required.

Responsibilities

• Provides emotional support to the patient during pre-operative, operative and post-operative stages.
• Performs pre-operative and post-operative activities to coordinate surgical procedures.
• Pre-Operative - completes patient pre-operative assessment and documents per policy.
• Surgical - assists in setting up cases, checks supplies, and aids the surgical team.
• PACU - receives patient with report of history and procedure, notes medications and status.
• Monitors patient condition changes and reports to physician.
• Reviews discharge instructions with patient/family and answers questions.
• Assists in discharge planning for continuity of care.
• Follows infection control and safety procedures.
