Job summary

IVIRMA is seeking a Surgical Center Technician in Waltham, MA to handle instruments, supplies and equipment during surgical procedures. The role requires knowledge of scrubs and aseptic technique, plus ability to anticipate the surgeon’s needs.

The position is per diem with weekly availability and advance scheduling. You will assist the surgical team, transport patients, mentor new staff, and participate in instrument care and sterilization under the IVIRMA Global guidelines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of surgical scrub processes and instrumentation for gyn, and urology procedures.
• Current BLS Certification – required.

Responsibilities

• Assembles supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Prepares sterile instrument table.
• Maintains aseptic techniques and monitors breaches in aseptic technique.
• Transports patients to and from surgical suite.
• Assists the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
• Gathers equipment for cleaning and sterilization.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
