Job summary

Intermountain Health's Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, CO is seeking a Patient Access Registration Specialist I to deliver outstanding customer service and manage registration and scheduling for patients and visitors.

You will verify demographics, insurance, collect co-pays, and guide patients through financial assistance options, while ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with privacy policies. This role supports coordinated patient flow and documentation in the EHR system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, internet, and email.
• Experience in healthcare customer service is required.
• Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and visitors courteously.
• Obtain and verify patient demographic, financial, and insurance information.
• Register and schedule patients for appointments, tests, and procedures.
• Collect co-pays and balances due at the time of service.
• Inform patients about financial assistance and payment plans.
• Explain consent forms and disclosures to patients.
• Provide directions and parking information.
• Coordinate with staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Document and update patient records in the EHR.
• Follow up on pending issues including authorizations and referrals.
