Job summary

Cook Children’s is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support the registration process at the Prosper location. You will gather patient demographics and insurance details, work within the revenue cycle to secure coverage, and clearly explain required documents to patients during registration.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of Health Care experience required in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of health care insurance and managed care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient registration flow by gathering demographic and third-party information with accuracy.
• Provide knowledge of revenue cycle and secure appropriate financial resources for patients to maximize reimbursement.
• Explain and deploy legally required documents to patients during registration.
• Maintain knowledge of HIPAA, Patient Rights and Responsibilities, and applicable policies to ensure compliance.
