Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Team Lead Patient Access to coordinate daily operations and mentor staff within the Patient Access department. This weekend lead role includes coverage across ED, Outpatient, Urgent Care, and Admitting with variable 7am and 9am start times.

The position focuses on workflow adherence, data accuracy, and patient flow across departments, with on-site responsibilities and a strong emphasis on leadership and service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications such as CHAA/CRCR or revenue cycle related certifications preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in patient access, registration, insurance verification, or related customer service roles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily Patient Access operations and workload distribution.
• Mentor team members and provide staffing coverage as needed.
• Ensure accurate registration, insurance verification, estimates, and payment collection.
• Communicate with ED, Outpatient, Urgent Care, and Admitting departments to support patient flow.
• Participate in interviews, onboarding, and staff training.
• Identify workflow improvements and participate in SME projects.
