Job summary

Dayton Children's is seeking a full-time Patient Access Coordinator for the Emergency Department. You will support day-to-day operations, mentor staff, and improve pre-registration and registration processes to enhance patient experiences.

This role requires a high school diploma, an associate's degree preferred, and at least 1 year of experience in patient access or a large hospital front office. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Associates degree is preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in patient access or large hospital front office.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing regulations, insurance and compliance requirements.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Clarivate Certified Access Specialist Certification completion within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to the team and facilitate problem solving with internal and external customers.
• Mentor point of service operations employees and coach using patient access standards and training methods.
• Assist supervisor/manager in improving methods for registration, pre-registration, pre-service estimate and collections.
• Collaborate across departments to optimize patient experiences and de-escalate situations when needed.
