Job summary

Ambercare, an Addus family company, is urgently hiring Flex Home Care Aides to support seniors and people with disabilities living at home. The HCA-Core is on call five days a week with 40 hours total (20 guaranteed) and a weekend day.

Schedule is set by the supervisor and assignments cannot be refused. Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with personal care, household tasks, transportation, and medication support.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Must be able to lift and assist with daily tasks as needed.
• Nurturing and compassionate by nature.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Willingness to work 5 days/week with at least one weekend day.
• On-call for 24-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Call the office every morning for assignment and report completion of tasks.
• Follow care plans for clients and document progress.
• Assist with personal care such as bathing and dressing.
• Provide or assist with routine house cleaning, meals, and laundry.
• Transport clients to appointments, store, and errands.
• Assist with self-administration of medications as needed.
• Observe and report changes in client condition.
