Job summary

Ambercare – an Addus family company is urgently hiring Flex Home Care Aides to support seniors and people with disabilities living at home. The Home Care Aide - Core is on call for 5 days per week, 40 hours per week with 20 hours guaranteed.

Work schedule is determined by the supervisor and assignments cannot be refused. Responsibilities include following care plans, assisting with personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, and transportation to appointments.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have reliable transportation; if by car, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
• On-call for 24-hour shifts.
• 5 days per week with weekend day; 40 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed).

Responsibilities

• Call into the office every morning for assignment.
• Follow specific care plans and report on completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.).
• Provide or assist with routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
• Transport client to doctor's office, grocery store and other essential errands.
• Assist client with the self-administration of medications.
• Observe and report any changes in client's condition.
